Moments at the Sony Ericsson Open 2012 Final

Maria Sharapova did not managed to clinch the championship title even though it seems she had the high chance to do so. World Number Four Agnieszka Radwanska won 7-5 6-4. Maria Sharapova who won her 7-1 times during their encounter of the games did not seems to have an upper hand over her this time as the Pole managed to crack her serves later on. It is also not too easy for the Pole as she managed to win Venus Williams and Marion Bartoli before reaching to the final.

At the double team match, Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova took home the title and it ended off with a pretty jumpy and bunny conclusion. After winning the title Maria Kirilenko jumped really high up that make her looks like a sweet bunny and later on when they received the trophy they dressed themselves up to look really like bunnies and show the obvious.

Another great tennis open this year's Sony Ericsson Open 2012 is and perhaps at the next Open Maria Sharapova can reach to the final and this win back the championship title. She seems close to get back to the World No. 1 spot again.

It was a battle between two former World Number One and both have much to prove that they are still at the top of their games. Both advances with confidence and for Caroline Wozniacki who has been World Number One for consecutive two years but slipped this year after not being able to secured titles at grand slams and allowing Victoria Azarenka to climb up. She wants to win back titles and top players. For Maria Sharapova, she has been playing pretty well these days reaching to finals of the games first in Australia Open the BNP Open and now Sony Ericsson Open which she has been at the finals for many times. This time is one great game where she can win.

Caroline Wozniacki took the lead at the start winning Maria Sharapova at the first round and later on Maria Sharapova came back and won the game 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. It was a great moment for Maria Sharapova and this time she will not be meeting current World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka who was knocked out by Marion Bartoli and subsequently the French player lost too.

Now it is Maria Sharapova time to show she can win the championship.

Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka at the BNP Open 2012

Victoria Azarenka has done it again winning Maria Sharapova with ease 6-2, 6-3. Maria Sharapova played well too but the World Number One just continue to show what number one really is and that made Maria Sharapova felt like she plays phenomenal tennis. Once you let up against Victoria Azarenka she will continue with her winning shots. Wonderful game. But for both players they will be preparing for the upcoming Sony Ericsson Open.

Both former champions of BNP Open met at the semi-finals. Maria Sharapova took the lead and won the match 6-4 0-1(r) after Ana Ivanovic could not continue due to her injury which she said that she started to feel in the first set of the match. At the second set she decided to stop the game as she could not push off and jump. Maria Sharapova will be facing Victoria Azarenka at the final which is like a repeat of the Australia Open this year where these two players pit against to win the championship. It was also since a long time where current top two players in the World are playing with each other at the final. Victoria Azarenka has been winning 22 games straight and Maria Sharapova has the opportunity to win back the player she lost the grand slam title to now. It all sounds like this is going to be a great final ahead to watch.

Maria Sharapova and Maria Kirilenko at BNP Open 2012

Maria Sharapova and Maria Kirilenko had a real long game at the quarter finals and at the start of the game, it was Maria Kirilenko who had the lead but Maria Sharapova came back and won the next two sets. The game ended with the score 3-6, 7-5, 6-2. At the second set Maria Kirilenko took a short break to tape her ankle and Maria Sharapova managed to find her rhythm again to come back. Initially Maria Kirilenko was really confident after the first set and at the second set onwards Maria Sharapova found her groove to lead then. At the third set Maria Sharapova won and the whole game lasted 3 hours and 5 minutes. It was a great game put up by two professional players. It is another continue win for Victoria Azarenka. World No. 1 continues to show she is at the top of her game. She had won Samantha 6-1 6-2 at the final. Samantha Stosur is well-known for her huge serve and she likes to hit it so hard to make her opponents run even behind the baseline. But the World No. 1 expected that and ensure she was not in that situation. The next game she will be at will be the BNP Paribas Open. It is another game where many good players will be there too. They include Caroline Wozniacki, Samantha Stosur and Maria Sharapova.

Maria Sharapova at the Paris Open (Getty images)

After the long awaited and exciting Australia Open, how are the finalists doing? Maria Sharapova has been busy continuing to play at matches such as the Fed Cup who she had play a part in winning for Russia against Spain. Fed Cup is an interesting event for tennis as it allows tennis players to represent their countries as a team. She also went for Paris Open but lost at the quarter finals to the opponent she won at the Australia Open. Pretty surprising indeed and her opponent Kerber felt the same too. However of all these games, Maria Sharapova has set her sights on the coming London Olympics, the inaugural prestigious event for sports in the world. It will be interesting to see her play at the Olympics as it is perhaps an event where the great players in their own field would at least wants to participate once. Victoria Azarenka on the other hand is resting from her injuries. She has withdrawn from the upcoming games and it is sometimes better to just recover fully before the champion plays again.

Australia Open continues to show excitment featuring the top players

Moving on in the Australia Open 2012, Maria Sharapova continues to advance and now competing the berth for semi-finals. She won Sabine Lisicki in her fourth round and will be facing fellow Russian Ekaterina Makarov. Ana Ivanovic was cruising too until she met Petra Kvitova. World Number One Caroline Wozniacki was on her target for her first grand slam winning former world number one Jelena Jankovic 6-0. 7-5. But facing Kim Clijster another former world number one she could not stand against the experience and precision of this veteran player on the court and she lost 6-3, 7-6 at the quarter finals.

Both Ana and Caroline red and orange dress were actually one of the nicest looking attire in this game with Maria Sharapova's fresh green. Caronline's orange gave the brightness on court that could really entice one. Of course the fresh green of Maria Sharapova is still the best among all.

In the Men's singles side, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal continues to advance too. Roger is still leading with a 6-4, 2-1 against Juan Martin del Potro.
