There is something about blue

I use to ask people what is their favorite color and I'm always amazed that so many answer "Blue".

Anyway, I'm curious about the profession of the owner of these jeans. Why all of them have the knees area frayed?

Malaysian blues

This was shot at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but the author is unknown. I did a post with two photos of Malaysian  sky here and felt like sharing this one too.

Duerme negrito: Mercedes Sosa speaks to your soul

"Duerme, Duerme negrito..."

I will not put the whole lyrics in Spanish of this lullaby because Mercedes Sosa has the talent of speaking to our souls when she sings even not understanding the words.

Duerme negrito means "sleep little black boy" and some people has the recollection of their mothers singing this song for them. Mercedes smiles beautifully and showing tenderness every time she says "negrito".

When she finishes singing she says she is going to sing a very sad song called "Ay , este azul" by Pancho Cabral and she says:

"Neruda loved this color as Picasso in his blue phase. I love this color because for me the color of happiness is blue."

Mercedes Sosa fought Argentine dictatorship with her voice but her music was never pamphlets and the high quality of her music will last forever.

Wikipedia:

At a concert in La Plata in 1979, Sosa was searched and arrested on stage, along with the attending crowd. Their release came about through international intervention. Banned in her own country, she moved to Paris and then to Madrid. Her second husband died in 1978.

Francis Picabia is most known by his Dada period, he was one of the creators of the movement, and surrealist period but his work is diverse and changed through the years. The left painting was sold at Christie to the Waddington Galleries Ltd., London for the price of $296,184.

He did a lot of works having women as theme.

I need a real acoustic guitar

I asked for encouragement here to keep playing the guitar. Thanks to all of those who encouraged me.

It is amazing but it is already part of my day practicing the chords and try playing songs. I came across with the F chord and I didn't give up.

Now I need to have a real acoustic guitar because the one I'm using, a Brazilian terrible brand "Tonante", must not be used by anyone because it does not tune. Yes. It was given to me by a friend and I just wanted to see if I was going to succeed in the "will" department. I did.

I'm determined to learn and I have a eight years plan: I will be playing what I like in 2020. You will see. Even if I stop blogging, I don't know what is going to happen, in November, 5, 2020, if this blog is still online, I'll post a video playing.

Learning a musical instrument should be part of the official education but the power of music is underestimated by educators and governments.

A person with Alzheimer disease who knows how to play an instrument can forget the name of their family members but will keep playing.

Learning an instrument when one is young helps some cognitive functions that is developed only by practicing and studying and it helps creativity which is necessary in all fields of human life. Even in science. It last forever if studied till a certain level even if the practice is interrupted, and, it feels soooooo goooood!

Eiffel Tower struke by lighting

It was taken by Bertrand Kulik, 21:02 GMT, 28 July 2008 during a storm in Paris.
The shades of blue from the lights that illuminate the tower are so beautiful and made the photography special. The lightning seems to embrace the tower. Amazing!

Quietness is blue

Blue is the color I think when I need quietness and is my favorite color.

I found this work "Quiet Night" by Vlad Geresimov, a Russian graphic designer, and it expresses the state of mind I want for today. I hope you can quiet your mind for some time too.

Erin McGuire's adventures in blue

Last May I did a post about Erin Mcguire's work at the moment I found her blog and was spelled by her art.
I went back and was enchanted again and as it's always hard to chose two in a good collection I decided for these because I love blue.
At least there is a criterion not very orthodox but a criterion.
But notice that the "action" is not in blue. The cat and the boy with a book in his hand as a shadow and the light that comes from inside is amazing.
