Tactical serving in tennis game

Many a times a power serve will impress the crowd and also causes the opponent to feel the strength that they might use more energy to counter back. However it is not all about power shot to win the game. Placing the ball is in fact one of the most aspect of serving. If one knows how to place the ball, even if you do not have the power serve, it will not increase your chances of landing the ball in the service box but also enable you to serve regularly to your opponent's weaker side. By doing so, the returns by them might also be weaker then.

This is not the only way of cos as placing is a tactic more to be discovered then. One can in fact serve to the stronger side and at the body of your opponent in otherwise at the position where your opponent may probably find it uncomfortable to counter the serve.

If you have realised tennis has more depth in just hitting the ball across the court then. Tactical serving is one part of the many interesting aspects of tennis that can be well applied in sports.

Feint action on the courts

To be able to hit well with the correct grip and smashing techniques are important in the games. They are usually like the basics when playing tennis. There is something also equally important sometimes which requires experience and skill. The movement of a tennis player. While movement is something more general, one of it is what is commonly known as a feint action. A feint action has to be nimble and sharp to create an impression for the other player that you are doing something else. By doing this, you can either lure the other player to hit a ball the direction you want or sometimes you can catch the player in surprise. A feint action is something that needs the experience and practice which will be discussed with more details in the next few posts.

What is a counterpuncher in tennis?

When people say you are a counterpuncher in tennis, what does that exactly means? Or do you actually know you are a counterpuncher? A counterpuncher is basically a defensive baseline player who react to their opponents' shots. This type of player usually allows their opponents to dictate the play and then they counter.

How do you discern who is a counterpuncher? They usually play further back in the court and hit with groundstrokes with a higher net clearance and more spin. The purpose of the shot is to neutralise opponents' power and attacks.

One of the main traits that the counterpuncher has is that she/ he never give up in the game.

Are you enjoying the game still?

Recently there have been some talking about how they have managed to hit the balls on targets, return serves and etc during practice. But, when they reached at the courts playing with someone at a tournament, things changed. They seem to lose their accuracy.

At any sports, I think before playing at tournaments, we need to get prepare, train and get the right level of of skills. At the match however sometimes it seems like a different story, you will get nervous, feel the intensity and perhaps this is where you should begin to think back why and how you want to play tennis. The question is are you still enjoying the game?

Keep it relax. But not too relax totally, by means relax is to be yourself when you are training hitting the balls with accuracy and the right amount of strength. Enjoy every moment at the court. That's why we want to play the sports in the first place isn't it?

Stepping the footwork of tennis

All the techniques of making the shots is important, the steps however kind of like the footwork is important as well. For successful shot-making, a player must take a step during the backswing. Stepping positions you to take the best possible swing at the ball. One can step in any direction chose but remember to tailor the stance to the oncoming ball. The correct stance will ensure that you are able to play the ball successfully and with enough power and accuracy to win points against your opponent.
