Mydeco Blog Awards!

I can truly say its been a mad couple of weeks and I am all LDF'd out!! It has been phenomenal going to all the events and not to mention the private parties, a girl can really get use to this. I loved having the opportunity in reporting back for Mydeco and for the London Design Festival. I still have a few highlights to share with you but will do so in the upcoming weeks...

One of these I will share with you today which was the Mydeco Blog Awards Ceremony held a couple of weeks ago at the V & A. It was lovely to see all the bloggers again and to finally meet Katie from Confessions of a Design Geek, winner of Best Interior Blog in the UK. It was also a pleasure meeting fellow blogger Carole from Dear Designers. So great to interact with all these people that share the same passion and drive as you.

It was a lovely evening with the company of Jo and Daniel from Mydeco and not to mention the lovely US interior designer Brad Ford  who presented us with our award, quite surreal really.

I cannot thank enough for all those that voted and made this possible for me and for all the support I have received from Mydeco. Thank you guys, I have really enjoyed the ride!

The amazing Awards designed by the lovely guys from Splendid.

An ecstatic me!

Thank you!

After an intense month of campaigning and trying to get as many votes in I finally did it, I won as 'Best Newcomer' in the Mydeco Design Democracy Awards 2010. What can I say other than the fact that I am totally speechless. It was already an honour being nominated but actually winning it against so many fantastic blogs!? Who would have thought my little blog would have such amazing support which I can only thank you guys for. Seriously without you I wouldn't have been able to win it and it really means the world to me.

I am now extremely excited to form the official task force at London Design Festival 2010, with VIP backstage access to all 200+ events. I can hardly wait!!!

I may have won it but all 33 blogs are true winners as we all share the same passion.....Hooray for Design Democracy!!!!

Mydeco Design Democracy Blog Awards

I was extremely excited when I received an email telling me that my Blog had been nominated for a Mydeco Design Democracy Blog award. I really only have you guys to thank as I am ever so grateful and really appreciate every single one of you who stop by, It means the world to me :)

I was asked to write about what 'Design Democracy' means to me. I feel there is no real definition but it is being able to  communicate your design ideas and actions in a totally liberal manner. Design your house how you want, express your opinions and share your inspirations, this is what Design Democracy is about.

My Blog is a place where I share all of my thoughts, where I can interact with amazing people and where I am free to be me and have no one tell me what is right or wrong.  It is where I bare my soul and am not afraid what people think. Design is my utmost passion and I am at my happiest when I am able to share this with people around the globe, bringing us all closer together for the one love we all share, DESIGN!

All of my influences come from daily surroundings, whether everyday life experiences, magazines, TV, books, websites, travelling, and more importantly the amazing blogs that I read on a daily basis, what would we do without them :) I am ever so thankful that design democracy exists!

Voting starts on August 1st till 31st August. If you have been enjoying my blog and I have inspired you in some way or another then please do click on the link below and vote for me, it would really make my day!
