Kelly Hoppen - Ideas Giveaway

I was so excited to receive two copies of the new Kelly Hoppen book 'Ideas' last week. I adore interior design books they are the ultimate source for inspiration so to receive this as a gift from Kelly makes me very happy.

Ideas is a beautifully stylish book which very much embraces Kelly's style and aesthetics.  There is also a foreword from Victoria Beckham for all the interested fashionistas out there ;) It is very much a little black book of ideas and advice to help you with the whole design process.  Filled with practical and creative information, checklists, inspiration boxes, Kelly is very generous with her knowledge as she opens up tremendously in this book showcasing her projects and telling you where certain pieces of furniture and accessories are from. There are some beautiful shots in this book which I find very inspiring. It is fantastic for the complete novice, a confidence booster for the new interior designer starting out in her career or for anyone who needs that little inspiration.

A few images from the book. First image is UK cover, second image is USA cover. Image credit Mel Yates.

Embracing Social Media With Kelly Hoppen

Tuesday evening I went to the launch event of Kelly Hoppen's Iphone app. Firstly I was so ecstatic to actually have been invited and secondly I was so happy to get the chance to meet Kelly Hoppen in person. Star struck I was indeed as she is a woman who has and still does inspire me so much!

A great evening of letting loose ideas on how to improve the online world of interiors. Great things are really happening in the social media for interiors, thanks to the launch of kelly Hoppen's iphone app it is really opening the doors to this industry.

As mentioned by Leon Bailey-Green (from the Online Fashion Agency) on the debate panel, there are so many big fashion names who are involved in social media while in the interior world this is still lacking. Another great point is that fashion values the importance of blogging because they are aware that it is a large community that inspire others.

It is great that Kelly is probably the first British interior designer to embrace it and hopefully launch this trend. We definitely need to catch up with the fashion world but I am so very confident we can do this, thanks to Kelly, great things are really happening. With the launch of her app and a burst of new design bloggers surely the interior industry will catch up online!

To celebrate this and thanking Kelly for her wonderful work I am giving away a free download of the Kelly Hoppen's 'home style' app. To have a chance just follow these simple steps:

1.Join my Facebook page & leave comment on my post. If you have already joined just leave a comment.

For an extra chance:

2.Retweet this post on twitter (pls mention me, @a_interiors so I can keep track who entered)

The winner will be selected randomly on Monday 8th and will be sent a link to download the app for free from Apple iTunes Store.

Kelly Hoppen's Iphone Application

Kelly Hoppen's Iphone/Ipad application is finally here! After long anticipation and excitement I quickly downloaded 'Home Style' early today and I can simply say it didn't disappoint. Stylishly designed, simple to use it really gives you all the styling tips one needs to get you started.

This handy little tool covers styling tips for bedrooms, dining tables, kitchens and my absolute favourite, shelves which can always cause a bit of a problem on the styling front. The results? Very stylish and very Kelly Hoppen!

Not only does it help you with all your styling needs but what I really like about this is that you really get a real insight into Kelly's world. There are lots of videos where she shares her tips and inspirations which is always nice when your favourite designer opens up and lets you in on a few words of wisdom.

Full of great images, videos and text it is packed with great inspiring ideas. Its the perfect little styling book that you can carry with you. I highly recommend it as it is great for design enthusiasts like myself or anyone wanting to get started when decorating a space but need that extra push.

A favourite styling tip? Definitely the shelving & table styling and I love the 'plum indulgence' table setting, very stylish and sexy!

Kelly Does It Again

Here I am on a gorgeous sunny day admiring one of Kelly Hoppen's latest project, a country house in the heart of Cotswolds. The result? A charming and sophisticated mix of neutral shades, with a Japanese sense of order and harmony which is kelly Hoppen's signature style. Theses gorgeous interiors are also softened with creased neutral linens, unlined curtains and whitewashed floors.

Such beautiful simplicity creating a perfect relaxed environment where all you want to do is immerse yourself in such surroundings. Here are a few of my favourite images which really do all the talking.

On that note I wish you all a happy weekend with hopefully lots of sunshine. :)
