Friday Inspiration: Mowie Kay Magazine

Wow I have died and gone to heaven. Excuse my ignorance but I only recently discovered Mowie kay and his deliciously mouth watering blog, Mowielicious. Wow a food stylist and photographer whose stunning pictures I can literally just stare at all day. Growing up in a family of bakers, his passion for food and photography developed and aren't we so grateful that it did?! What's even more exciting, he has just launched his first online digital magazine, Mowiekay and 'wow' it is fabulous indeed. This is just non stop eye candy at its finest. I couldn't stop oohing and ahing, it is simply divine. 

What also surprised me was a styling feature by Holly Becker herself (pg 61-71). She styled, photographed and wrote the article herself and it was definitely a stunning feature. I mean seriously is there any stopping this woman, whatever she touches turns into magic :)

  Mowie Kay not only styles food but also flowers and he sure isn't too bad in that department either, simply stunning!

To think he styles and photographs everything is pretty impressive. Simply talented he is and a real inspiration.

Friday Inspiration... Rie Elise Larsen

Yay it's Friday, hasn't the week flown by and what a week it has been! Fully productive at this end and I am beyond excited on what I am working on and I promise promise I will tell you all about it soon :) This week was also extremely fun as I went along to Holly Becker's book launch held at Liberty. What a great evening meeting new and familiar faces and chatting away. Of course I got to see Holly again whom there is no hiding how much I admire this woman, truly inspiring, she is simply a beautiful person to know. I also finally got to meet Leslie Shewring from A Creative Mint, what a sweetheart! All in all it was a great night and it really gave me this inspiring edge to just go for it and really believe in myself. You can see some photos of the event on my facebook page.

Ok so enough rambling on and I will leave you with some gorgeous images from an online shop that I have recently discovered. Former stylist Rie Elise Larsen launched her own collection of home accessories in spring 2008. I just love Danish design don't you? This collection is just colourful, flamboyant and fun, just what I need on a Friday afternoon!

Book Review: Decorate

A while ago I mentioned about my exciting press breakfast with Holly Becker and how I managed to get my hands on her brand new book Decorate. Well it's officially due for release in a couple of days, 24th March to be precise and so I wanted to share with all of you what I actually thought of it.

As most of you know I am a huge fan of Holly and her blog Decor8, she was one of my inspirations behind the idea of starting my own blogging journey, so she is someone I really look up to and admire a great deal (and she also happens to be an exceptional nice person too!) I obviously had great expectations of this book and so I was incredibly excited when I received a copy of 'Decorate'. Well it certainly did not disappoint in the slightest, in fact it's even better than I had imagined, if that could be possible.

This is by far one of my favourite interior books that I have read in a long time. co-authored by Joanna Copestick, this book  beautifully translates Holly’s passion and enthusiasm for interiors, in which she has a fabulous creative eye that never fails her and it certainly shows in this book. ‘Decorate’ has become one of my ultimate favourite reads, brimming with inspiration I find myself unable to put it down. Full of beautiful decorative images and showcasing some stylish homes it is packed with fantastic tips on placing furniture, how to style a room and adding that extra individual style without breaking the bank. I love it how there is such a vast of selection of styles from natural & fleamarket style to modern glamour and eclectic.

There is also great creative advice from some of my favourite designers, Jonathan Adler, Abigail Ahern and Vincent wolf to name a few. The book itself is just sublime and the photography from Debi Treloar is stunning. I really do highly recommend this book as it basically is beautiful, inspirational, informative and just simply gorgeous. You couldn't expect any less from Holly :)

Meeting Holly Becker & Decorate!

This morning I was so lucky enough to meet Holly Becker from Decor8 at a press breakfast for her new book Decorate! Wow is all I can say! Holly is the nicest, friendliest and warmest person you can possibly meet. After years following her blog, knowing pretty much everything about her it was great to have the opportunity to actually meet her in person. Straight away she made me feel at ease and we chatted about her excitement of her new book Decorate, talking about social media and our passion for blogging! :)

It was also lovely meeting Joanna Copestick, (co-author) and many other inspiring bloggers and stylists, all in all it was a great start to the day.

I am on such a high I cannot tell you! Holly is someone that I completely admire and who really inspires me and makes me want to follow my dream and believe in myself, she is a true inspiration! I cannot thank her enough for inviting me this morning, it has definitely kicked off my new years with a bang!

I am so excited about having a signed copy of her book, it looks amazing after having a quick flick through. With the rest of the day planned I cannot wait to relax with a nice cup of tea and be totally inspired by this gorgeous book. Holly Becker's Decorate!

I am so excited that pre-orders for Holly Becker's new book Decorate are now available from Amazon! The cover looks great and I cannot wait to have a read and view all the amazing interiors! 

 

Holly with co-author Joanna Copestick travelled around Europe and USA where they styled and shot so many homes with photographer Debi Treloar. Being a huge fan of her amazing blog Decor8, I seriously cannot wait to for this book, with over 500 photographs it is sure to be full of inspiration!
