Malaysia Whip Ukraine 5-1 For Third Consecutive Win

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- Malaysia scored its third consecutive victory in the Olympic Qualifier in Dublin, Ireland by beating minnows Ukraine 5-1 Tuesday.

The win was Malaysia's third high scoring game after having beaten Chile 5-1 and Russia 6-2 in the first two matches respectively.

Tengku Ahmad Tajudin Tengku Abdul Jalil started the ball rolling with a field goal in the 23rd minute while Hafifihafiz Hanafi added another field goal in the 32nd minute to take a healthy lead before break.

When the second half resumed, Muhammad Razie Abdul Rahim struck a swift penalty corner in the 48th minute for Malaysia's third goal before Ukraine pulled a goal back in the 57th minute through Viacheslav Paziuk's penalty corner strike.

Coach Tai Beng Hai's boys rounded off the mach with two quick goals in the 60th and 69th minutes through Muhammad Amin Rahim (penalty corner) and Mohamad Sukri Abdul Mutalib's penalty stroke respectively.
