KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysia recovered from an early scare to continue their winning ways in the 2012 Olympic Qualifier in Dublin, Ireland by whipping Russia 6-2, for their second consecutive emphatic win today.
Malaysia who beat Chile 5-1 yesterday, suffered an early setback when Russia took a surprise 2-0 lead as early as the 12th minute through Aleksander Platonov (10th min) and Pavel Golubev two minutes later.
Coach Tai Beng Hai's boys however, regrouped to narrow the deficit in the 28th minute through Mohd Amin Rahim's penalty corner strike.
Mohd Amin went on to accomplish his hat-trick with goals in the 37th and 54th minute to ensure all three points.
