Real Homes: Laura de Wilde

Today featuring on my Real Homes series is independent visual artist Laura de Wilde. Laura lives in Amsterdam with her husband and three children in a four storey house dated from 1905. Her living space is entirely built on intuition which is what I love about these interiors. All pieces have such a vast range with lots of furniture being family antiques, collectables or just bought impulsively for its aesthetic appeal. It's probably the odd combination that makes this so attractive. Being an artist, Laura adopts a unique approach to her interiors, she says 'there is no strategy in the decoration; the colour scheme is the same as in my paintings. If an object is beautiful it is welcome. It represents me and when I hear people feel very much at home here; in the end that is what I aim for'.

Laura produces the most beautiful artwork which is no surprise that a lot of her clients are interior designers. I love it how her house is filled with her work which is definietly one feature that makes this an incredibly unique home. It is a lovely cosy nest and I truly love what Laura has done here. A big thank you to Laura for opening her doors to 'Arianna Interiors'.

What do you think? Don't you just love how Laura has mixed it up so nicely here? I would love to know your views...
