King, Queen Visit Olympics Games Village

LONDON, July 26 (Bernama) -- Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah made a visit to the London Olympics Games Village here Friday.

The King's daughter Tunku Puteri Intan Shafinaz Tuanku Abdul Halim accompanied Their Majesties during the visit.

Their Majesties arrived at the Games Village located in the Stratford district at 3.15pm local time and spent about an hour and a half there including visiting apartments where members of the Malaysian contingent are staying.

Malaysia's Chef-de- Mission to the Games Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid then briefed Their Majesties on the accomodation arrangements for the Malaysian athletes and facilities provided at the Games Village.

Present to welcome the arrival of Their Majesties were Olympic Council of Malaysia honorary-secretary Datuk Sieh Kok Chi, National Sports Council director-general Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong, National Sports Institute director-general Datuk Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz, all team managers and several athletes from the diving and archery teams.
