It is a privilege for anyone to carry the Olympic torch and that there are 8000 torchbearers for the London Olympics.

Among them is Fauja Singh. At a remarkable age of 101, he carried the Olympic torch on July 21st, 2012.

Born in Punjab, India, he covered the London Borough of Newham while surrounded by hundreds of supporters.

He is an inspiration in more ways than one as he has run multiple marathons in the last few years after taking up running in his late 80s.

And he is nowhere near slowing down as he says he wants to carry the Olympic torch in 2016 as well.

Did you that that the Olympic Torch, a long standing symbol of the Olympic Games has been carried through a wide range of unusual means.

On two different occasions, in 1996 and 2000, the Olympic Torch traveled to space, although it was not lit.

And in 2000, Camels were used to carry the torch through the Australian desert.

Have you ever seen the Olympic torch being carried? Who would you nominate as a torchbearer?
