The 19-year-old Kedahan said that he must improve some aspects before he can compete against some of the world's best sailors.
"I must work on the start as sometimes it is slow and sometimes fast. I will use the remaining ten days to correct weaknesses before the sailing events start," he told reporters at KL International Airport (KLIA) before leaving for London last night.
He left on the same flight with his father cum manager Mohd Afendy Abdullah and the archery team.
The sailing events are expected to start on July 29 at Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy on the south coast of London.
