BBC News HD - Sir Patrick carries Olympic torch through Croydon 2012

 

On day 66 of its journey, Sir Patrick Stewart carried the Olympic torch through parts of Croydon, South London.

The famous Shakespearean actor is perhaps better known as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, in the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation and several Star Trek feature films.

Mr Stewart said 'nothing compared' to the experience of carrying the torch ahead of the Olympic games.
