One-handed slice tennis backhand technique Introduction

One-handed slice backhand is a single-handed shot when playing a groundstroke on your non-dominant side. The advantage of using this technique is that you can actually significantly increases your reach capacity. Slice is used primarily as a defensive shot when the player is under pressure, but it can also be used aggressively like a drop shot.


So some may ask what exactly is slice? Slice is when the ball is struck with a combination of side and backspin. Usually, the continental grip is used for this kind of shot. Timing is important for this shot though of course timing is always important for all other sports. For some, they actually said that counting one to five works for this slice backhand.
