The tennis backhand volley is usually played with one hand. If you noticed many of the most successful players use a one-handed backhand volley because this allows for greater reach. There are a few things to take note in order to use this technique properly:
1. Ready position
Start with continental grip and your racket held out in front of you. Next use split-step movement when your opponent is about to strike.
2. counter balance
When moving onto the ball, step forward with your right foot and move the non-hitting hand out behind you. This hand will act as the counter balance.
3. Recovery
Next the player got to ensure the take back and follow through are compact and recover to the ready position quickly.
