Hup Wei, Noraseela Aim To Better Personal Best At Olympics - MAU

KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Athletics Union (MAU) is confident that two of its athletes, Lee Hup Wei and Noraseela Khalid, will be making waves as 'wild card' participants at the London Olympic Games.

MAU vice-president Datuk R. Annamalai said the prestigious stage would fire higher jumper Hup Wei and 400m hurdler Noraseela to chart their own achievements when the athletics events at the Games begin on August 3.

"The two of them have been training in Germany for two months. I am confident the atmosphere at the London Olympics will spur them to success.

"MAU hopes they will be able to improve their personal bests," he said when met by Bernama at Bukit Jalil here.

Annamalai, who is also the athletics team manager for the (London) Games, said the two athletes would be leaving for London on Monday with coach Alfaroquinones Jorgeluismr.
