Better Medal Prospects In London Compared With Beijing - Tunku Imran

KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's 30-strong athletes contingent has a better prospect of winning medals at the London Olympic Games which starts on July 27, compared with the 2008 Beijing Olympics in China.

The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) president Tan Sri Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja'afar said Malaysia's high quality contingent for the Olympics has a good prospect of winning medals.

"At this year's Olympics, we have more medal prospects compared with the Beijing Olympics (2008).

"We have many more divers with great potential, our cyclist have improved and so has our men's archery team. As for badminton, our top players are still there," he told reporters after receiving sponsorship pledge for Malaysian Olympic contingent at the OCM Sports Museum and Hall of Fame, here Monday.

At Monday's ceremony, OCM received sponsorship from Telekom Malaysia, Dutch Lady, Coca-Cola, Maxis, Sports Toto Malaysia, Carlsberg, Milo, Astro Arena, Mesuma and Sparkmanshop.
